How long does it take before your eyesight adjusts back after lasik surgery?
Q. i heard your eyes become bad again after lasik surgery after just a few years because they adjust back. Is this true? and what are the other things about lasik i should know about? i also heard that your eyes become very dry.
A. About half to two thirds of people I come across who have gotten LASIK have experienced their vision getting blurrier.
The eyes don't adjust back to blur. They get blurrier because we are using our eyes incorrectly. Blur is supposed to be a signal from the body that we're doing something wrong. Will lasik surgery hurt and permanently dry my eyes?

Are getting punctal plugs for lasik surgery worth it?
Q. went to the eye doc for a screening for lasik surgery. They keep urging me to get punctal plugs (plugs to keep your tears from draining out of your eyes to prevent "dry eyes"). Thing thing is that it costs an extra $150/eye for the plugs. Other option is using rewetting eye drops. $10 vs $300. Is it better to get the plugs, or should I be cheap and use the re-wetting drops? Are there dangers by not doing the plugs? thanks for the help.
A. well lasik can cause dry eye, and if you already hace dry eye than the lasik healing process might be slower.
you can use the tear drops every hour of the day everyday which can get pricey. or you can get the plugs which a lot of people say its worth it. the plugs can be temporary if you want to try them. there really isnt dangers of not getting the plugs it really is a gimmick or a scam. use the drops.

Does Lasik eye surgery work and does it have any bad side effects?

Since im Joining the infantry to train as a sniper i will need good vision but unfortunately like a lot of people im slightly nearsighted and might be getting lasik to correct this But i have heard of side effects such as dry eyes etc.... i would like to know if it is worth and and are their really any bad side effects?
A. Yes, Lasik eye surgery works, and is worth it. There are possible side effects, but most can be avoided by choosing a trustworthy doctor. For example, people with large pupils can get a halo effect an night. This can be avoided by not getting Lasik if you have large pupils.
Also, keep in mind that there are other eye surgeries that may be better for you. I didn't have Lasik, I had PRK. With Lasik, there is generally a scar where they cut the cornea (this can cause the halo effect when your pupils open wider at night). After having PRK 12 years ago,every eye doctor I've seen has remarked that he could not tell by examining my eyes that I had the surgery. PRK is just as effective as Lasik, but the healing time is longer. Good luck.
