what are the benefits of black pepper?
Q.
A. Like all eastern spices, pepper was historically both a seasoning and a medicine. Long pepper, being stronger, was often the preferred medication, but both were used.
Black peppercorns figure in remedies in Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani medicine in India. The 5th century Syriac Book of Medicines prescribes pepper (or perhaps long pepper) for such illnesses as constipation, diarrhoea, earache, gangrene, heart disease, hernia, hoarseness, indigestion, insect bites, insomnia, joint pain, liver problems, lung disease, oral abscesses, sunburn, tooth decay, and toothaches.[17] Various sources from the 5th century onward also recommend pepper to treat eye problems, often by applying salves or poultices made with pepper directly to the eye. There is no current medical evidence that any of these treatments has any benefit; pepper applied directly to the eye would be quite uncomfortable and possibly damaging.[18]
Pepper has long been believed to cause sneezing; this is still believed true today. Some sources say that piperine irritates the nostrils, causing the sneezing [19]; some say that it is just the effect of the fine dust in ground pepper, and some say that pepper is not in fact a very effective sneeze-producer at all. Few if any controlled studies have been carried out to answer the question.
Pepper is eliminated from the diet of patients having abdominal surgery and ulcers because of its irritating effect upon the intestines, being replaced by what is referred to as a bland diet.

What is a good book/book series 2?
Q. The first one had negative answers...
I've read, The Hunger Games, The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, The Underlander Chronicles. That's it.
I'm looking for a NON-GORY, violent book. I like Sci-fi and Fiction books as seen above

Is it just me, or is Radiohead really boring?
Q.
A. Its just you =) I can't imagine anyone can see them as boring, maybe you should try listening to other songs. A lot of their songs are underrated and not yet discovered I guess. They write about a variety of things. They've written about cannibalism, a human clone, technology, politics, Karma, War, Reincarnation and lots of other things. They're interesting because they don't talk about love all the time, they help their fans realize that there are other things going on in the world.
Their sounds are extremely interesting, and they put in a lot of effort in everything they do. The song The National Anthem featured a whole orchestra which was conducted by Jonny Greenwood (guitarist) to make it sound like a traffic jam. How cool is that? He also plays the ondes martonet, which is an instrument that was mainly used by french composers in the 18th century. In the pyramid song, he plays the guitar with a violin bow! The song Fitter, Happier features a computerised voice as the main vocals. The song 15 step features a group of children cheering. This is only FEW of the things. They have amazing lyrics and an amazing way of showing it.
They are incredibly diverse, not every single song sounds like Creep. If you like Rock, you will like some of their earlier songs. If you like hip hop, you'll like song of their newer stuff. Etc Etc. Radiohead are filled with so many genres. It's amazing. I can't possibly see this is a boring. Maybe you just haven't listened to enough songs, or the songs are just not catchy enough or "listenable" in another words. Boring is definetly not the right word for it.
@Thomas: You can't even spell his name, its Thom Yorke you douchebag. It's not a frkin lazy eye, his eye became like that after 6 eye surgeries. From this I can say that you probably can't even name any other songs besides Creep. Stop being so ignorant.

Do Women Belong in The Kitchen & Doing Laundry?
Q.
A. I wonder if you're going to tell that to:
1. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
2. First Lady Michelle Obama--teacher, lawyer
3. Anchor Woman Brenda Blackmon
4. Basketball star Candace Parker was selected as AP female athlete of year. She led Tennessee to a second straight national championship in women's basketball, was the first pick in the WNBA draft, took the league's MVP and rookie of the year awards, and helped the U.S. win a fourth-straight Olympic gold medal. Now Parker has been selected female athlete of the year by members of The Associated Press. "Wow, that's amazing," the 22-year-old Parker said. "It's been a great year from so many standpoints. I haven't really had a chance to sit back and let it all sink in."
5. Lydia O. Newman who made the hairbrush on November 15, 18--
6. Mary Anderson patented the windshield wiper in 1905.
7. Alice Parker who made the heating furnace
8. Patricia Bath: Born in Harlem, New York, Bath holds a bachelor's degree from Hunter College and an M.D. from Howard University. She is a co-founder of the American Institute for the Prevention of Blindness. Bath is best known for her invention of the Laserphaco Probe for the treatment of cataracts. Invented: A form of eye surgery using lasers
Dr. Patricia Bath, an ophthalmologist from New York, but living in Los Angeles when she received her patent, became the first African American woman doctor to receive a patent for a medical invention. Patricia Baths patent (no. 4,744,360), a method for removing cataract lenses, transformed eye surgery, using a laser device making the procedure more accurate (Cataract Laserphaco Probe). The probe, patented in 1988, is designed to use the power of a laser to quickly and painlessly vaporize cataracts from patients eyes, replacing the more common method of using a grinding, drill-like device to remove the afflictions. With another invention, Bath was able to restore sight to people who had been blind for over 30 years.
9. In 1850, Joel Houghton patented a wooden machine with a hand-turned wheel that splashed water on dishes, it was hardly a workable machine, but it was the first patent. In 1886, Josephine Cochran proclaims in disgust "If nobody else is going to invent a dishwashing machine, I'll do it myself." And she did, Josephine Cochran invented the first practical (did the job) dishwasher. Josephine Cochran had expected the public to welcome the new invention, which she unveiled at the 1893, World's Fair, but only the hotels and large restaurants were buying her ideas. It was not until the 1950s, that dishwashers caught on with the general public. Josephine Cochran's machine was a hand-operated mechanical dishwasher. She founded a company to manufacture these dish washers, which eventually became KitchenAid.
10. Phillis Wheatley, (first black writer to be published in America)
11. Jackie Joyner-Kersee, (considered greatest female athlete of the 20th century)
12. Venus and Serena Williams--tennis stars
13. Laila Ali--boxer
Or is it that the idea of having another person at your mercy, beck and call has gone to your head, made you drunk and stunted your brain cells?
What if I told you that after you left school you were sentenced to the rest of your life doing laundry, washing dishes, picking up dirty underwear and fussing over a hot stove. What would you say?
Women go to school to learn, get careers or achieve goals in order to be productive in society, enjoy life and get the American dream...just like men. NO ONE should be stuck being a maid unless it is their choice or they are using it as a stepping stone to get to a better career.
Destroying another person's life so that you can have less competition in the workplace or that you can come home and put your feet up on someone else's back...is sad especially when we look at how much they've contributed to our society.
