LASIK for Asian's eyes?
Q. I am planning to have a LASIK in NYC. I am an Asian. Those Asian doctors here claim that Asian's eyes are different than those of non-Asians. Therefore, I'd better have this surgery with an Asian doctor.
Is this true?
Besides, in what situation Wavefront will be necessary for LASIK?
Any answer will be appreciated.

A. WTF?? I am Asian and I had LASIK done. That the most bullshit thing I have ever heard. Maybe those Asian doctors are trying to secure you as a patient.
I got eye lasik surgery recently...will it hurt my vision if I stare at computer monitor for too long?
Q.
A. Computer use won't actually "hurt" your eyes after Lasik, but it can definitely cause them to dry out.
Use artificial tears frequently for a few months post-surgery; our eyes need moisture and the frequent eye drops will help the healing.
Take breaks often (even if you have NEVER had Lasik surgery) and blink a lot (we forget to blink when we're working on computers or reading). This causes eye fatigue. After Lasik, you may find that your eyes get more tired than usual while your eyes are healing. This is normal but make sure you get enough sleep and give your poor eyes a rest!

I have always been nearsighted. I was thinking about getting Lasik surgery.?
Q. I had worn glasses up to the age of 16 and contacts from there on. I get so frustrated. My eyes get iritated, red. An all around pain.
As a child wearing glasses, I was teased and treated very cruel. I was so traumatized. I swore I would never were glasses again.
As technology has advanced. I have sincerely thought about getting Lasik surgery.
Has anyone had this procedure done. What can you tell me? Where did you get it done? (I am in DC) How did it turn out?
I would like to know anything you can tell me!

A. I had it done several years ago - THE BEST $$ I'VE EVER SPENT! I was wearing glasses since I was 12, now my eyesight is perfect. Procedure was easy, quick, and painless (just a little discomfort for a day or two, but nothing too bad).
I went to Dr. Dello Russo (he's based in NYC).

Should I consider having lasik surgery?
Q. I have been thinking about considering lasik surgery for many years. I am very afraid of the outcome of the surgery. I heard that there are many risks due to the surgery, dry eyes, halos and glares, vision damages, and worse enough blindness. I am highly nearsighted on one of my eyes and almost perfect vision on the other eye. I rely on wearing glasses all the time to see things and I am tired of it. I didn't schedule for any consultations because I know that sometimes surgeons don't tell patients the right things and tell patients that they are good candidates for lasik surgery, but actually they are not. Doctors are trying to get money off of these patients and will do everything to do so.
Any suggestions? Do you or anyone you know that has done lasik surgery before? What are their results? I was wondering who is the best lasik surgeon in nyc. I am planning to consider ilasik surgery because it is bladeless and safer than lasik surgery.

A. Lasik surgery only takes six minutes (2-3 minutes each eye). You have to wear sunglasses afterwards and be very careful because your eyes will still be healing for the next several weeks. Don't wear contacts a week or two before the surgery. The chances of not getting near perfect vision is very slim. There's also blade and blade-free surgery, although one is more expensive than the other.
