What is the best course of action to become a successful plastic surgeon?
Q. What is the best course of action to become a successful plastic surgeon?
When I say course of action I mean schools and degrees to have. Also, where do I have to work as a surgeon before I can run a successful private practice. I heard somewhere that it is a good idea to work at plastic surgery firm in a hospital until I am a resident there. My ultimate goal would to run a private practice in a place like Miami, LA or NYC. Is this a good idea financially? Please help, I am very confused.

A. After medical school and a year of internship, you take a general surgery residency of about five years and then a plastic surgery residency of about the same length. You can go into private practice as soon as you have passed your National Plastic Surgery Board requirements, which might take a bit more time beyond your plastic surgery residency.
(I have never heard of being able to work for a "plastic surgery firm" on your way to becoming a resident. You do not need to earn a kinesiology degree. You may select any undergraduate major for admisssion to medical school so long as you take and pass the pre-med classes which are listed on medical school websites.)
The plastic surgery residencies are very competitive for admission.
On the other hand, do not tell the medical school admissions officer that you are interested in plastic surgery. It will be counted against you as it indicates your desire for money, which you are better off keeping to yourself. It's fine to say you are interested in surgery and have not decided which kind yet. There are general surgeons, eye surgeons, gynecological surgeons, etc.
Plastic surgeons make more money than most other specialists and do not have to deal with insurance companies as they are paid directly by the patient for cosmetic surgery. You may find better opportunities in communities with fewer plastic surgeons than the ones you listed.

How can I change my eye color?
Q. I would like to know if I can change my eye color somehow without using surgery or colored lenses. I have naturally brown eyes.
A. there is actually a surgery done by a doctor in Miami called newcoloriris, however it was proved to be a hoax. About nine people got it done, and all of them are posting videos on the internet of how jacked up their eyes now. But that is beside the point.
I'm sorry sweetie, there is no current way to change your eye color without either of those options. I suggest you get contact lenses, they are the only way to REALLY change your eye color.

How much does it cost to do laser eye surgery in miami, FL?
Q.
A. I am not sure about Miami, FL. But in Charlotte,NC - it runs from 2500-4000 for both eyes. I am sure it would compare somewhat close to Miami. If its any less than 2000 - I would run :) Its important to find a reputable surgeon in your area. Ask around to friends and co-workers. And they should all do free consults - so you can check out a couple of places if you like to get pricing and info on surgeon. Hope this helps!
How is the man who got his face chewed off doin nowadays?
Q. I haven't heard anything since it first happen, how is that guy recovering?
A. Hi. I do not have all the details yet this is the closest I have so far.(Scary as I lived in Miami as a teen for about two years. There are other incidents of zombie like attacks and even one or more on police having many police considering retiring or looking for a safer line of work.

Ronald Poppo, the Miami 'zombie attack' victim, who had his face atrociously savaged last Saturday, will take several months to recover but unfortunately his face will remain permanently disfigured.
Although experts have informed that facial reconstruction is possible, things for Poppo will never be the same. Facial surgeries as such are not simple procedures and with it come the daunting high price tags.
Dade County will reportedly pay the bill that may end up in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for Poppo who was a homeless man for more than three decades before suffering cannibal-style attack.

"It can easily cost $100,000 to $200,000 for the surgeries that will get his face back," surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer of Bal Harbour Plastic Surgery in Miami, told Radar. Poppo on Tuesday, still remained in critical condition and his current health status is yet to be known.

If decisions to move forward with the surgeries are, Poppo may get a hand from a fundraising campaign that was launched for the sake of helping him pay the various medical bills and expenses issued. The campaign gathered approximately $500 dollars on May 30, its first day. On May 31st, that amount rose to $2000. The goal of this campaign is to raise at least $50,000 and as of now, there is still $48,000 more to go until August 31st--the day the campaign ends. The Jackson Memorial Foundation also announced on Thursday the opening of a fund to help Mr. Poppo, who is staying at the affiliated Jackson Memorial Hosiptal. Donations can be made online at this website: https://www.jmf.org/take-action-now/donations/ (Under 'Other', write 'Ronald Poppo').
New details of Ronald, the victim, including the fact that he attended the prestigious Stuyvesant High School in New York City from which he graduated in 1964 and his yearbook surfaced thanks to the Miami New Times.
To add to the background, Antoinette Poppo, Ronald's sister, told CBS Miami that she had thought he had committed suicide after several attempts to reach him. She also commented on Poppo being a smart student. "I remember a very intelligent boy. He went to a private school, and I really don't understand what happened," she told CBS.
On May 26, authorities say that Rudy Eugene tore off at least 80 percent of Poppo's face in a gory and unprovoked incident that was described as a "bloodbath". Poppo's face in the end had his mouth, nose, eyes, and ears missing after the attack.
Eugene, the aggressor, took to Poppo's face for a total of 18 minutes. It could've lasted longer if it wasn't for Miami-Dade police officer, Jose Rivera, who finally gunned him down. Eugene was shot multiple times in the back and died at the scene.
Certain delusion-causing-drugs like "bath salts" may have played a role in causing Eugene to act like a crazy animal suspect the police.
"Bath salts" are known for inducing people to lose their judgment and/or become very violent. In this case, Eugene seemed to be under a similar influence since police Armando Aguilar, told CNN that Eugene growled like a wild beast when he was told to back away.
The attack was likened to a "zombie apocalypse" style attack by various media agencies since it poses, arguably, as the goriest story the U.S. has learned for some time now.

The entire attack was captured on tape by surveillance cameras of nearby buildings including the Miami Herald's.
What was Rudy Eugene, the aggressor, like? Someone "not really with a mental sickness but somewhat paranoid" was what his ex-wife, Jenny Ductant, told WPLG-TV.
Toxicology tests on Rudy Eugene will be announced two weeks later and it is expected that these may help shed some better light on what caused Eugene to act in such irrational and disgusting manner.
