How much does it cost about to have Lasik Eye surgery in Denver for both eyes if they are -8.25(and considered legally blind without contacts?) I'm trying to figure out an estimate.
Answer
Because denver is full of discount centers you'll find prices range from $1500 /both eyes up to $5000 /both eyes. For good reputable surgeons $4500 is probably close.

Answer
Wavefront vs. NIDEK and IntraLase Bladeless LASIK vs. Microkeratome
At Icon LASIK in Denver, we offer bladeless LASIK, wavefront lasik, and the NIDEK EC-5000 eye tracker. By offering several different LASIK treatment options, you and your Icon LASIK doctor, will determine which laser vision treatment option is best for you. The result is often better than 20/20 vision.
There are many different forms of laser eye surgery available today. With many clinics claiming their technology is the best.

IntraLase( IntraLase laser eye surgery or Bladeless Lasik) may provide the perfect combination of benefits we've been waiting for-thin flaps that heal with biomechanical strength similar to PRK laser eye surgery (Photorefractive Keratectomy) and the quick visual recovery of LASIK.
Wavefront LASIK is also referred to as a custom LASIK surgery or sometimes as a Wavefront-guided LASIK. This type of surgery uses a three dimensional measurements ( 3-D Map) on how your eyes process images. With these measurements; the Wavefront LASIK will create an individualized laser correction program for the surface of your eye.in reshaping the cornea. This will be guided by a detailed analysis of the errors in your vision as seen in the way light travels through your eye
The Wavefront measurement system is very precise. It enables vision correction that would not be possible using standard LASIK surgery, eye glasses, and contact lenses. The treatment is tailored to each patient’s requirements. So, rather than the standard ‘one size fits all’ approach, this treatment takes into account that every patient’s eyes are different and adjusts itself accordingly
Who are suitable for the Wavefront LASIK eye surgery?
There are certain criteria that you have to meet in order to be eligible for a Wavefront LASIK surgery.
Some factors to take into consideration are the following higher order aberrancies: :
•the precision of the laser system used by the doctor
•the thickness of your cornea ( your THICK eyes)
•if you have mild to moderately high myopia
•if you have mild to moderately high hyperopia
•if you have mild to moderately high astigmatism
What are the potential benefits of using Wavefront technology?
One of the breakthroughs in Wavefront technology involves how you see. Usually, surgeries will make you see clearer by making you score twenty-twenty on the eye charts. With the Wavefront technology, the way you see is also improved. There will be improvement in the fine details and in the sensitivity to contrast. This means that there will be fewer complications after the LASIK treatment related to glaring, halos, and trouble seeing at night
As you can imagine this unique approach is more expensive than standard LASIK, and even PRK ( old refractive surgery which can contribute to the high-order aberrancies.) but, it can treat those patients with a ‘high’ prescription (moderate to severe refractive error) as well as ensuring better quality of vision
PRK and LASIK are both classified as a laser eye surgery although each has its own advantages and disadvantages.PRK was the first method of laser eye surgery which was used to treat low refractive errors. It is a suitable surgery for those with thin corneas
It is recommended for those patients with large pupils or THIN corneas.
What is the difference between PRK and the newer lasik?
The main difference is that the surgeon removes thin layers of cells from the outer surface of the cornea. With LASIK, he or she will create a small flap (with a ‘hinge’) before folding this back to access the cornea. The cornea is reshaped with a laser
So in conclusion, custom waveform technology Lasik surgery has better results than PRK ; RK; CK or LTK, etc
