LASIK eye surgery DQ?

Yangoo

If you have gotten LASIK eye surgery does it disqualify you automatically? If it does, will you get in trouble if you get it done once ALREADY IN the military? (Air Force in particular)
Yeah i wanted to get it right after ROTC. (if i get commissioned)

Second: do you know any special jobs that DO NOT accept it?

Thanks for all your answers
Edit 3: well like Security Forces Officer, Readiness Officer, Hell maybe if i train hard enough might go for Combat Rescue Officer. Even though we all KNOW chances are slim for anyone. But things along those lines. NOT Pilot though, never really caught my attention.

Answer
You can get a waiver for lasik, you just must wait 6 months after the lasik.

But you cannot get it right after ROTC

Once your in the military, you have to schedule any surgery though the base hospital, even if your paying for it yourself and getting it done in a civilian hospital.

Lasik Eye surgery and the military?

Hua Zhi X

My question is in two parts.

Question 1: Will having lasik eye surgery before enlisting in the army bar me from being an infantrymen?

Question 2: Will having lasik eye surgery before enlisting in the Navy bar me from being a Corpsman?

I would like some references if possible, or people who have actually been in the military, or are in the military.
I'm talking about the US Army and the US Navy

Answer
I don't know what country and province you live in.
I don't think you getting a refractive surgery should exclude you from being a military personnel, but you need to know that its just PRK that is the accepted surgical technique.
