How long does it take to get deployed after AIT as a 21B?

Q. I wish to enlist, i need to know if i can get in my contract, that after AIT i can go to Airborne and Sapper school, go on a 1 month medical leave, and then go to Afghanistan, i know it depends on my unit but i also wish to do LASIK eye surgery (with my own money) before i serve, is all this possible?
And please dont tell me to ask a recruiter, because some of them tend to lie and i need an opinion anyway.

A. You can get Airborne, you generally cannot get Sapper school. You generally have to prove to your new unit that you are a soldier that is worth sending to Sapper school. No you will not be allowed to have it in your contract to get 1 month of medical leave nor a promise to be deployed.

I would not get LASIK I would get PRK. In LASIK your eye may not ever completely heal while in PRK it will (PRK works better unless you have REALLY bad vision, though PRK does hurt more).

As for length of time till you are deployed after graduation.....really depends on what unit you go to, what the units primary focus is, and when the last time the unit deployed.

Does eye surgery forever get rid of myopic or short-sighted in eyes ?
Q. I just got an eye surgery in order to see things clearer. But I wonder how long does it last until for me to see clearer ?

A. lasik surgery doesn't cure you, or take away your vision problems completely. depending on how bad your prescription was, some people still require glasses. contact your OD for any further questions.

What is the age to get laser eye surgery?
Q. I'm wonder what age you can get laser eye surgery, i am hoping to do it right away.

A. LASIK is a laser based vision correction procedure where your vision can be corrected to such a degree that you no longer need corrective lenses. And the amazing part is that it all happens in just a few minutes!

But LASIK eye surgery isn't right for everyone. You need to meet certain requirements before submitting to LASIK eye surgery.

Here are a few of the guidelines used in determining if LASIK is a good choice for you -

* You should be over 18 years of age.
* Your corneas must be healthy.
* You should not have had a significant change in your lens prescription in the last 12 months.
* Women should not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
* You should be in good general health.

LASIK eye surgery can perform miracles - it can give you relief from wearing corrective lenses. It can cure nearsightedness, astigmatism and farsightedness. The procedure is quick and painless, offering almost immediate results. And due to advances in technology and the wide demand for this type of service, LASIK is quite economical.

LASIK eye surgery is now so common that millions of people have decided that it was time to abandon their corrective lenses, once and for all. There are so many LASIK clinics that you're likely to find one close by, no matter where you live.

Who has experience with lasik eye surgery and would like to tell me about it?
Q. How long does it last? Is the cost/last really worth it? Did it hurt afterwards? Anything else you want to tell me about it?

A. LASIK should last your whole life. if you would ever need an enhancement you could get one done. I had mine done at TLC Vision and I can go in if I ever need an enhancement done and they would do it for free (it all depends on who you get to do the surgery).

No hurt at all after I had it, they give you drops to put in your eyes and eye guards for at night so you don't scratch or rub them.

I could see as soon as I sat up on the operating table. They had me read the clock on the wall.

I would recommend this for anyone.
