How much did you pay for your dogs cherry eye surgery?

Q. My dog (engl. Bulldog) has a cherry eye and I would like to know how much most of the people paid. I have two estimates and for some reason they are both soooooooooooooo different (in price).... I am just curious. Thank you.
My dog had it happen before and it was fixed, but I did not have to pay for it (the breeder still did). I have 2 estimates and they differ almost $1000

How does it feel when getting eye surgery?

Q. Does it hurt?
While under anesthesia are you aware of whats going on or not?
Does it hurt once you get home and the anesthesia is gone?

A. I have had two eye surgeries, both when I was a child. From what I remember, the experience wasn't all that bad. I was under anaesthesia both times, so I just remember counting backwards from ten and going to sleep. I had no memory of the surgery. When I woke up my eye was bandaged up and it felt like there was sand in my eye. Not painful, just uncomfortable. I kept the eye patch on my eye for two days or so. When I took it off it was really red and a little bit sore, but the irritation was most annoying. The worst part about the whole experience was actually having to use eye drops for a few weeks, because I hated getting things in my eye! After about a week my eye felt normal, was just a bit red still. Your experience will depend on what type of eye surgery you are having done (mine was to fix my exotropia in my left eye) and whether you are put to sleep for the operation or kept awake with a local anaesthetic. In either case, it shouldn't be very painful.

What kind of Anesthesia do they put u on for eye surgery?

Q. I'm 14 and having Strabismus surgery (not serious, i just want my eyes to be aligned because my left eye drifts)
So what type of Anesthesia do they put. Also will they put the peeing thingy in for the surgery?

A. Having had this surgery in Dec 2009, I was put under "general anesthesia." They put an IV in the top of my hand where they delivered all the drugs. About 10 min before the surgery, while I was still awake, the nurse gave me a drug through the IV to calm me down (my blood pressure was high -- I was really nervous). Whatever she gave me made me feel very relaxed. Then they wheeled me into the OR and gave me the anesthesia through the same IV in my hand. That's the last thing I remember. The next thing I recall is waking up in the recovery area.

I did not have a "pee thing" during the surgery. They just make you use the bathroom before the surgery. Good luck!

I got an eye compress the the hospital and don't know what to do with it?

Q. I got eye surgery yesterday and the hospital gave me an eye compress. It looks kinda like fabric eyecovers but I don't know what to do with it. Do I put water in it and freeze it? I know it needs to be cold because when I woke up from anesthesia I felt it on my eyes and it was cold but not hard. Any ideas?
