Why do my eyes feel so dry with restasis?

Q. Im having lasik eye surgery so they put me on restasis for dry eyes. My eyes were only dry when I wore contacts but since starting restasis a month ago my eyes burn, itch, and are more dry than before. Should I stop?

A. Ask your eye care professional as it may be rather important for him/her to know BEFORE you undergo the Lasik surgery.

How much should I expect to pay for Lasik surgery?
Q. I have worn contacts since the 5th grade and they are starting to dry out my eyes. I would like to get the Lasik surgery, but I want to make sure it is an option I can afford. I'm sure there is financing available.

For the record, this is in Houston, Texas. I am not interested in going elsewhere for the surgery.
Also, I need the surgery because I have astigmatism, and I'm nearsighted.
I'm 23 years old. I know, the 5th grade comment made me sound really young.

A. We charge between 2800-4000 for both eyes depending on what your prescription is. And there are other factors such as corneal thickness and pupil size that determine which lasik procedure is better for you. The most important thing is to find a reputable surgeon in your area. Ask around to friends and co-workers for advice as well. Most places do free consultations, so if you are really unsure go to a couple of places and get information about the surgeon and pricing. Most places can give you information regarding financing. It is usually through an outside company such as CareCredit or Capital One. Those are two that we offer. I had lasik done
2 1/2 yrs ago and absolutely love it. Good Luck and feel free to ask any questions.

How long should it take my dialated eyes to return to normal?
Q. I had my eyes dilated yesterday pre-op for LASIK surgery. It has been 28 hours now and my eyes are still dilated and really dry. My eye doctor told me that these drops are strong but I never expected them to last this long. At what point should I be concerned?

A. It depends on what drop was used. Can take anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days, depending on the drop.

Call the eye doctor and ask how long it should have lasted and whether you should be concerned.

Shall I confirm the doctors about my dry eyes?
Q. I am going to have Z-Lasik surgery to correct my vision. But I am concerned now, as my eyes are dry and I dont really recall if I told the doctors that I have dry eyes or not, lol.

But, they did say i'm a good candid to have the surgery. Did they do their job and figured that there's nothing to worry about the dryness? or shall I inform them?
My surgery is after 2 weeks.

A. Yes Absolutely!
