I really wouldn't recommend you doing PRK / LASIK SURGERY. I'd wait three extra years, mainly becuase if your eyes are this bad, they are still getting worse. This is the main reason why you can't get laser until you are 18 years old. There is less involved in the surgical process for PRK patients although their healing takes substantially longer and requires more follow up visits. You should expect to pay anywhere from $3500 to $5000 to have both eyes treated in the DC/VA/MD market. At our practice, the cost for LASIK and PRK is identical. Additionally, some practices have tiered pricing, meaning the lower your prescription, the less you pay.

I had worn glasses up to the age of 16 and contacts from there on. I get so frustrated. My eyes get iritated, red. An all around pain.

As a child wearing glasses, I was teased and treated very cruel. I was so traumatized. I swore I would never were glasses again.

As technology has advanced. I have sincerely thought about getting Lasik surgery.

Has anyone had this procedure done. What can you tell me? Where did you get it done? (I am in DC) How did it turn out?
I would like to know anything you can tell me!

I had it done several years ago - THE BEST $$ I'VE EVER SPENT! I was wearing glasses since I was 12, now my eyesight is perfect. Procedure was easy, quick, and painless (just a little discomfort for a day or two, but nothing too bad).

I went to Dr. Dello Russo (he's based in NYC).
