Laser eye surgery in New York?

Q. Hello,

I read some of the old answers regarding laser eye surgery but I cannot seem to find the information I am looking for. I have myopia (nearsightedness) and I am confused about the different procedures available. Which one do you think is the best and safest? Would you recomment Lasik? Can somebody please suggest a place/clinic? Also, how much do they usually charge for both eyes?
I live in the Bronx but anywhere in and around the New York area is ok, as long as you have direct experience.

A. I recommend PRK for most of my patients - less complications. I operate in MN, however. about 3000 for both eyes is reasonable (as long as it is custom wavefront with the VISX laser).

A. I have no clue around the St. Louis area. I do know where I got mine done here in Upstate New York cost me $999/eye and I have not had any problems. My eyes aren't red, sore or dry at all. Try to find out if anyone you may possibly know in your area may have had it done and where they had it done. That is how I found where to have mine done and the doctor is great. By the way, I now have 20/10 vision, so it does work.
