I live in North Carolina, I am thirteen years old and I want Lasik or laser eye correction. What is the minimum age? Can I get it younger with a parent signature?

I was just curious, my eyes are really bad, i cant read a font at the size of 12 on the computer screen when i am 70 cm away from it. And would a person like me whos eye sight is that bad be suitable for eye surgery? By the way, iam 13 years old. :S

You cannot legally have laser eye treatment until you are 18. Realistically you should not consider treatment until you are at least 20 odd. If you think your vision is bad now, it is almost certain to get worse through your teens until stabilising around your late teens / early twenties.

I'd advise you to wear your glasses correctly, good proper use now will make for a better, stable and hence more predictably treatable prescription earlier.
