How much does lasik eye surgery cost?

Q. What is the approximate cost of lasik eye vision correction surgery?

A. Hi Ash - The cost of LASIK or PRK can vary from anywhere between $500 per eye to $2000 per eye, and there are multiple reasons for the large range in price. Typically, the cost for patients with high prescriptions, hyperopia (farsightedness) or astigmatism is slightly higher than those with low or moderate myopia (nearsightedness). Technology is also a determining factor in the cost of the procedure. At LASIK MD, we offer Standard and Custom LASIK or PRK. Advanced Custom Wavefront offers better quality outcomes for those patients with high prescriptions, thin corneas and larger-than-average pupils. Custom LASIK requires technology that is costlier, and is therefore offered at a higher price.

The best way to find out if youre a candidate is to undergo a preoperative consultation. LASIK MD offers free consultations, so try and find a laser vision correction centre near you that offers this service for free. LASIK MD also offers a Lowest Price Guarantee, so this is something else you may want to look for to ensure youre getting the best price from your laser vision correction provider.

Hope that helps,

How much would LASIK eye surgery cost for me?
Q. I'm 15 and I currently wear Toric Contact lense, meaning I have an astigmatism. My contacts cost between $550 - $600 a year. Would it be best for me just to get LASIK?

Also I live in south Florida, any well know LASIK surgeons down here?

A. Im not in the US, Im in the UK, but my Lasik cost me £4000 including the interest for finance. My prescription was quite high and I had an astigmatism too but it was well worth it. It's great to be free of glasses and contacts. Contact lenses are not worth it in the long term.

Q. I live in Central Florida. If you live in Orlando thats great. Tell me, But if you dont tell me anyway. How much did it cost you or how much was the price range.
Thank you.

Is there a way to improve eyesight naturally? And is Lasik eye surgery available for people with astigamatism?
Q. I'm 20 years old and my eyesight is really bad (probably from all the years of video games, tv, and surfing the internet). I've decided to limit my time spent on these activities, but what I want to know is if there's a way to improve your eyesight without the use of glasses or contacts?

Also, I've heard from someone that people with astigmatism can't get that eye restoration surgery. Is that true? Not that I can afford it right now anyway, I just want to know my options later on.

A. There is no natural way to Improve eye sight. Dont fall for the advertising gimmicks.
Lasik works well for people with astigmatism.

Lasik is relatively a very safe procedure which has been performed for nearly a decade. The technology has advanced so much that its now possible to predict the outcome even before laser is done. The pre op Diagnostic Procedures are called as orbscan and abberometry.

Lasik procedure takes just 10 mins for both the eyes and you can resume normal activities within 24 hrs.

The only disadvantage is the cost of the procedure , but this can be over come when u have the procedure done in countries like India which have very good laser centers and Ophthalmologists.

Eye care tourism is becoming very popular and u can save a lot of money.

I am an Ophthalmologist specialising in eye care tourism in Chennai India.
