Should I get LASIK eye surgery before I join the military?

Jordan
I'm just wondering if it will be easier because having glasses seems like a pain...
Answer
If you join the Military you will have to wear "glasses" no matter what. When I joined the Army I wore glasses but in 2004 I received eye surgery courtesy of the taxpayers. However, due to new policies geared towards protecting you from eye injuries, ballistic eyewear is mandatory during training and most deployments. You're going to have to wear them no matter what.
Going back to the surgery I got, back then it was limited to people in combat arms jobs but later they started offering it to everybody. With that, you can save yourself a few bucks by waiting until you get in to apply for it. Not to mention after getting the surgery as a civilian you may be told you have to wait several months after the surgery before you can enlist but if you get it while already in you're good to go.

Does the British Military allow LASIK Eye Surgery?

Doonan War
I hope to join the Parachute Regiment. Hopefully to be a Sniper (as I have shown in one of my other questions) or other Combat Role. But primarily Sniper.
Let's use the Parachute Regiment as an example. Would they allow someone who has had LASIK Eye Surgery. LASIK basically corrects being short-sighted (Myopia).
Would they allow someone who has undergone that surgery (for both eyes) join as one of their paratroopers? If they don't, how about other branches of the Military? E.g. Royal Marines, Royal Navy, Regular Infantry?
Remember these are for combat roles where the eyesight need is greater.
I plan to use this, for your reference: http://uk.opticalexpress.com/laser-eye-surgery/lasik.html
Also, would they allow Advanced CustomVue Wavefront? The advanced version of LASIK (the one shown above)?:

I have asked them but never get straight answers (as always). So please give me good answers guys!
