lasik eye surgery?

i'm 15 years old. i've had glasses since i was 11 and i've had 3 pairs in all, each a stronger perscription. that last time (about a year ago) i was at the doctor's we asked to estimate what my eyes were like without any glasses and he said probably around 20/400. a normal person is 20/20. that's really really bad in case you didn't know.
i was wondering
for those who have had lasik eye surgery, what were your thoughts on it? was it great? painful? weird? def. something to look into? how was it during the surgery? i'm ony 15 so i can't get it done yet and i don't really know that much about it but i'd appreciate any feedback on it. thanks!
oh and did you regret getting it? what about the price? i know it's like 2, 500 do you think that's reasonable for it?

Well, lasik can not be done on anyone younger than 18. Then There are other criteria as to when they should do it depending on your developement and your tears and your cornea and all sorts of other things that they take into consideration. Go to maloneyvision.com and read about it. Dr. Maloney is the surgeon that does the Makoever stuff on TV and he aslo is the docotr that does most of the FDA trials for the new stuff that comes out for lasik treatments. He has a best selling book that you can read for free online that answers most of your questions. I do not work for him, but we do a lot of work for his patients in our office here in So. CA.

Lasik eye surgery?

Im getting lasik on my eyes this sat for $3100. Im 29 and my vision has been stable for 2 years now. Doctor says I have large pupils. My prescription is -5.5 diopters for my right eye and
-5.0 diopters for my left eye.Has anybody had lasik done? How long ago? Cost? Any complications? How well can you see?

i had lasic done almost 4 years ago with GREAT results!!!my vision was terrible before surgery, my prescription was -7.75 and -8.00. i was 40 at the time of surgery,been wearing glasses since i was 8 yrs old. the surgery at that time cost was around $2000,but i would pay a hundred times that!!!i had no complications and can now see 20/20!!! congrats and let me know how it turns out! you're gonna LOVE IT!!!
