What is a good hospital to get LASIK surgery for eye in Abu Dhabi?

Q. I seriously want to get the surgery done, probably in about 2-3 years, when I'm around 19-20 years old, but I wanted to know when a good time to get it.

How much will it cost for one eye?

And are there any negative side-effects from LASIK surgery?

And if you have had it, how was it? Does it hurt to get it done? Can you see clear now?

A. Mafraq Hospital is the best place. I work there. I can get you all the details you need.
Or, I can put you on phone with one of the doctors who perform it so you can ask
all the questions on your mind.
Text me if you will.

Is it possible to have two LASIK eye surgery in one lifetime?
Q. say ur eye sight is bad. u get Lasik Eye surgery. everything is good. you can see better again.

ur young. now as u grow old. your eyes get worst again.

does the tissue (cornea) they cut off grow back. or does it stay cut forever?

if it doesnt heal as time go by. does that mean you can no longer have another Lasik eye surgery?

A. Yes you can 2 surgeries on your life. TLC vision centers offers a lifetime guarantee. Tissue does not grow back in the eye but if you have enough left they can do the surgery again. They would reexamine your eyes to determine if enough is left. A pharmacist I worked with had her surgery redone when she was in her late 30s because her eyes had regressed some.

Are there any exercises for the eye's that work to improve vision?
Q. I'm getting older, eye sight not 20/20, glassess or are there exercises? Lasik surgery, NO, no one is putting a knife to my eye's.
Thank You!

A. I have been doing exercises that a friend got from Depec Shopec (sp?) Just roll your eyes around like a baby does without turning your head. It hurts to start but that stops - do it a couple times a day. It worked for me. I was wearing those over the counter 1.5 glasses for reading - now I don't need them.

What is the procedure of Lasik surgery like?
Q. Is the procedure of Lasik surgery painful?
I'm 18 years old and I recently asked my dad for contacts, which he said yes to. But he gave me the suggestion on getting Lasik surgery. It has been a week now and he is strongly suggesting to get the surgery.

I'm afraid of pain and I really hate the idea of doing the surgery. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what it's like during the procedure and after. Thank you.

A. I had lasik back in April. It didn't hurt at all. Afterwards, all I had was a little dryness, maybe a little burning, but nothing that I would even consider uncomfortable. All of this went away in just a few days, and they give you drops that completely ease this. All I can say is that it was the best thing that I have done in a long time. Waking up the next morning and being able to see things clearly, there is nothing like that.

One thing that I did do was research the doctors in my area. I ended up paying almost $4000 for my surgery, but I got the best. (your eyes are nothing to skimp on).
There are some downsides to consider. 1) It is sort of a trade off. You get nice clear distant vision, but as you age, your reading vision will decline. At around 40 (average) you will need reading glasses at about the same strength of your current distant vision. On the other hand, everybody loses reading vision as they age anyway. I figure. I would have ended up needing reading glasses when I get old anyway, plus I much prefer only wearing glasses for reading as opposed to all the time for the rest of my life. Also, I am 37 now, and my reading vision is perfect so far.
2) You may hear some people say that you will see a halo around lights after the surgery, but this is temperary, and is mostly just around LED lights, and it never bothered me much.
A doctor will map your eye so that the best outcome is achieved. So as long as you find a good doctor, you will be fine.

The actual procedure takes about 10 min. total. They lay you down under the machine, numb your eyes with drops. Then, they place a thing around your eye to hold the lid open (doesn't hurt, just a little pressure) then they will tell you to look at a light and the laser cuts the flap. The doctor folds the flap back, and for a second your vision goes blurry. Then the laser zaps off the correct amount of your cornia in the exact spots that your eye map dictates. Then the dr. folds the flap back down and then he will use a surgical wipe to wipe down the flap on your eye. You will see all of this, but all you will feel is wetness from the solution. Then, he swings you around under the other side of the machine, and does everything on the other eye. Plus, you will feel totally relaxed, because they give you a valium before starting.

can laser eye surgery work to reduce your prescription as well as cure you?

Q. My eyes are outside the range of laser/lasik surgery, I was wondering if the surgery can be used to reduce my prescription from a -12 to say a -6 or 8?

A. Yes it can.

See a decent opthalmic surgeon rather than a high street optician - although the normal range is up to -10 it can be possible to work on a 'worse' prescription depending on your needs and the overall condition of your eyes. The guy who did my eyes yesterday did cataract and laser correction surgery on an 80+ year old woman and got her MINUS 37 eyes up to -1.5 - pretty awesome!!

how old are you supposed to be to have lasik eye surgery?
Q. I am 15 yrs. Im turning 16 this september and i want lasik eye surgery. But i don't know if theres a age for it.

A. I had Lasik eye surgery done after wearing glasses for 16 years. It has been perfect for me. I have had no changes. Of course, as I age, I expect changes. I also co-manage refractive surgery and have seen hundreds of successful patients. It doesn't hurt, generally. There is a bit of pressure, but no real pain if you have LASIK. The PRK version (where no flap is cut) is a little more uncomfortable for the first few days following the procedure. I've seen several people who said they were in some pain, but healed just fine. I used to wear both glasses and contact lenses. I had LASIK done and it's the best decision I've ever made. I can see clearly, no squinting, no driving with glasses anymore. I can read road signs, see the individual leaves in the trees (they're not just a blurry mess anymore). It's also nice to be able to see what time it is when I wake up. The procedure is painless (although a bit uncomfortable) but takes less than 15 minutes. Highly recommended.

Would Lasik Vision Correction be a good decision for me?
Q. I've been legally blind without my contacts since I was 10 years old. In other words, my vision is absolutely terrible. I can't even see a foot and a half in front of me, naturally.
Anyways, I'm thinking about talking to my eye doctor about the Lasik surgery, but I don't really know how risky it is.
Any advice or information would be helpful. Thanks!

A. I'd definitely go for Lasik surgery if I were you. Plus, doctors now have a way of testing if you make a viable candidate or not. Just make sure to save up for the procedure.

What would cause a blue halo around my once dark brown eyes?
Q. My eyes were once dark brown. They are now a grayish brown with amost a sky blue halo. I am 68 years old. I have diabetes and sarcoidosis which can affect the eye. I also have rheumatiod arthritis. I have had lasik surgery in both eyes for glaucoma.

A. I am not a doctor so I can't answer ur question. But may I suggest that you go see an eye doctor to consult ur problem
